The authentic Cycladic setting with the impressive rock formations that have been chiselled by the north wind, caves, hidden coves, colourful wild-flowers and sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, was turned into a protected area in 2009 by the City Council of Paros, for the sole purpose of the environmental protection of the peninsula of Ai Yiannis Detis in the NW part of the bay of Naoussa. The park’s goals include: taking actions to raise awareness about the environment and sustainability, promoting culture and creating opportunities for recreational and athletic activities in this 80 hectares of protected natural environment. Cars and other vehicles, hunting, fishing and camping are strictly prohibited.
